Albert Brooks’ 1985 classic about married yuppies (Brooks and the underrated Julie Hagerty) who decide to hit the road and abandon society is getting the Blu-ray treatment, and it’s about time. Much of the issues Brooks addresses, from the existential torment of everyday working life to the dangerous lure of mid-life fantasy, are just as applicable today as they were over 30 years ago. Rarely has Brooks’ gift for a cutting word or an on-point diatribe been as keen as it is here. A must-own.
