  • Workout Regimen: I work out four to fives times a week. As soon as I get out of bed, I stretch. I enjoy doing cardiovascular exercises – BodyPump®, walking, Zumba®, line dancing, cycling, aerobics, and baton twirling. I also do 30 minutes of strength training – working my upper body with shoulder and chest presses and bicep curls. For my lower body, I do 30 minutes of lunges, squats, leg presses, curls and leg extensions. I also use the stability ball for my crunches and planks.  Lastly, yoga twice weekly really helps me with my balance.
  • Favorite Exercise: Power walking in the park cleanses my soul. It allows me to connect to nature. It has a multitude of health benefits.
  • Hobbies: I love reading spiritual, health and fitness materials. I enjoy shopping and traveling, doing crossword puzzles and singing in my church choir.
  • Wellness Philosophy: Take good care of your body, and it will take care of you. Engage in physical activities. Eat nutritious food. Sleep well. Get your checkups. Find peace, and happiness will follow.
  • Guilty Pleasure: I enjoy taking kids to the amusement parks and the zoo so that I can run, jump, laugh and feel like a kid all over again.
  • Favorite Snack: Unsalted nuts – almonds, cashews, walnuts and pistachios.
  • To Diet or Not to Diet? Not to Diet. The root word of diet is die. Throughout the years, I have learned how to “Eat to Live.”  The Mediterranean recipes work for me. I do not eat processed foods. I try to limit my sugars. I prevent myself from eating iodized salt, white rice and flour. I do not eat after 8 pm, I drink lots of water and love to eat my fruits and vegetables.
  • What Being a “Beautiful Woman” Means: An outstanding personality, kind-hearted, elegant, charming and caring.  A stunning glow that attracts people. Someone who cares about her appearance. Last and most of all, God-fearing.
  • Favorite Way to Recharge: Go for a run! Good for my heart, head and overall health. I feel so energized afterwards.
  • Must-Have Wardrobe Staple: Jeans. The right pair of jeans make you feel both sexy and comfortable. Jeans are so versatile – you can dress them up or dress them down.
  • Inspiration: My mother was amazing. She was very a hard worker in her church and community. She loved people. Family and friends consistently wanted to be near her. She was always encouraging people to do something good with their life.
  • Advice: Never stop learning, believe in yourself, love one another, work hard, stay active and healthy. Lastly, trust in God.
